Poem: Kaleidoscope

Sometimes, when you remember things from your past that you regret, they feel like faded memories. You won’t remember what happened and why it happened; but you will remember how it made you feel. And that’s when you fall into a maze of past events, a puzzle of emotions and a kaleidoscope of memories.

Kaleidoscope.

Kaleidoscope of memories,
It’s like a Broadway show.
So entertaining and happy,
And then sad and snappy.
Kaleidoscope of memories,
It’s like an old storage box.
Filled with shadows of,
Old pictures and thoughts.
Kaleidoscope of memories,
It’s so fast and swift,
Easy to remember,
And forget what we did.
Kaleidoscope of memories,
I wish I could press delete.
And write again.
Because everything is still in my head.
It runs through my veins.

Kaleidoscope of memories,
It’s not clear,
It’s small bits.
I’m still shocked,
At how perfectly it all fits.
Kaleidoscope of memories,
It’s broken glass.
Still shiny and clear,
In all it’s tiny parts,
And all broken shards.
Kaleidoscope of memories,
I wish there was a way to forget,
For it is filled with regret.
Mixed voices,
And wrong choices.
Kaleidoscope of memories,
There are still a few happy moments,
Less than bad ones,
But they’re bittersweet,
Like the way you feel when a call ends.
Kaleidoscope of memories,
I wish I could press delete,
And write again.
Because everything is still in my head.
It runs through my veins.
